English

The present research aimed was to investigate the effectiveness auditory-motor integration based on sensory-motor activities on control stereotyped behavior in children whit autism disorder. The stereotyped behaviors that appear verbally or non-verbal motor sequences in these children. Method of this study was semi-experimental and pretest-posttest design with control group. The statistical population of the present study was all children whit Autism Spectrum Disorder in Kerman, that 22 children with high functioning autism spectrum disorder with mean age was 8.5±1.5 years, that were randomly divided into two groups, motor intervention with (7 children) and non-music (7 children) and control (8 children). The Gars-2 Measurement Scale was used in order to assessment children with autism. The participants in the exercise intervention with music and non-music groups in 12 weeks, practiced three sessions per week, and each session was run for 45 to 60 minutes, and also the Orff music used in one of the experimental groups with motor intervention. The SPSS20 software and univariate analysis of covariance statistical test were used to analyze the data. The findings showed, F value observed for post-test scores stereotyped behavior in children whit autism whit high functioning autism spectrum disorder, three groups of motor intervention with and without music, and control group was significant after keeping the pre-test effect constant (F=58.25, P<0.001). It seems, Sensory -Motor activity can be used therapeutic intervention to control and reduce the stereotypical behavior of these children due to the provision of sensory feedback and the replacement of similar mechanisms.
