Abstract

The present research aimed to investigate the effectiveness of group counseling with the cognitive-behavioral approach on the quality of life of blind peoples. Participants were 24 blinds who selected using cluster sampling and assigned randomly in experimental and control groups. Then the experimental group participated in group counseling sessions with cognitive-behavioral approach for 10 sessions, but control group didn’t receive any intervention. Data analyzed via analysis of covariance method. Results indicated that the quality of life (as respect to the hygiene and physical health, psychological health, social relations and life status) of experimental group has been increased comparing to the control group (p < 0.05). Thus it can be concluded that the group counseling with the cognitive-behavioral approach may improve the quality of life of the blind peoples (in all dimensions).
