The effectiveness of cognitive behavioral training mothers of deaf students on their satisfaction and mental health parity

Abstract

The effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral training on partnership satisfaction and mental health of mothers of school kids with hearing impairment this study conducted to investigate the effectiveness of cognitive- behavioral training on partnership satisfaction and mental health on mothers of school kids with hearing impairment. The study population consisted of all mothers of school kids with hearing impairment in Ali Abad city and 24 mothers have been selected by available sampling. This study was an experimental project with pretest-posttest and control group. 12 mothers assigned randomly in experimental group and 12 in control group. The intervention -cognitive behavioral training- administered in 8 sessions. GHQ questionair and partnership satisfaction scale have been used to assess research variables in two steps of pre-test and post-test. The research data of control and experimental groups analyzed using covariance analysis.the research findings showed that all of all subscales of both GHQ and partnership satisfaction scale were meaningful. Therefor it can be concluded that cognitive-behavioral training can lead to increase partnership satisfaction and mental health in mothers.
