Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of psycho-rehabilitation Dohsa-hou on improving sleep problems in children with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. This study was a quasi-experimental research with a pretest-posttest design and a control group. The statistical population of this study included all boys aged 8-12 years with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder in Isfahan in 2019-2020 (N=350). Subjects were selected by available sampling method and randomly divided into experimental (n = 15) and control (n = 15) groups. The experimental group participated in Dosaho for 8 months during 8 one-hour psycho- rehabilitation sessions and the control group did not receive any intervention. The instruments used were the Connors Parent Questionnaire and the Petersburg Sleep Quality Questionnaire (PSQI). Data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of covariance in SPSS-24 software. The general results of multivariate analysis of covariance on the mean scores of pre-test and post-test showed that psycho-rehabilitation Dohsa-hou improves the overall quality of sleep and dimensions of mental sleep quality, sleep delay, sleep disorders and disorders. Daily performance had a significant effect. Overall, Psycho-Rehabilitation Dohsa-hou significantly improved sleep quality in children with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and this type of rehabilitation can be used as a complementary approach to improve sleep problems in children with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder To be placed.
