Abstract
The aim of the present study was to identify the attitudes of parents of children with autism spectrum disorder regarding the interaction of others with their child in society. To achieve this goal, an interpretive paradigm, a qualitative approach, and an ethnographic strategy: understanding culture and experience were used. The research field included parents of children with autism in Sanandaj in the academic year 2024-2025. The research tool was a semi-structured interview that was conducted with nine parents with a saturation criterion. The selection of parents was criterion-based and purposeful. The deductive-inductive technique was used to analyze the information. The findings showed that parents' perception of others' reactions when facing an autism spectrum disorder child plays a significant role in the quality of their interaction with the child; in such a way that the experience of support and acceptance from others strengthens emotional interaction and the experience of social rejection weakens it. Also, parents' strategies for strengthening the interaction of society with autism spectrum disorder children include: acceptance of differences, public education, culture building, and institutional support. Accordingly, the results of the present study emphasize the need to promote social awareness and provide structural support to families with autism spectrum disorder children.
