Abstract
The present study aimed to determine the effectiveness of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) on resilience and emotional self-regulation in adolescents with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). This research employed a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test–post-test control group structure. The statistical population consisted of adolescents formally diagnosed with ADHD by psychologists and psychometricians at counseling centers in Yazd County in 2024. A sample of 30 adolescents (15 girls and 15 boys) was selected through convenience sampling. Participants were randomly assigned to experimental (n = 15) and control (n = 15) groups. Measurement tools included the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) and the Affective Self-Regulatory Strategy Scale (ASRSS) developed by Larsen and Prizmic. The experimental group received an eight-session intervention program of MBCT, each session lasting 90 minutes, while the control group received no intervention. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 23, employing descriptive statistics and analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). Results indicated that the MBCT intervention had a significant effect on resilience (F = 0.82, p = 0.01) and emotional self-regulation (F = 0.76, p = 0.01). These findings suggest that therapists can incorporate MBCT into educational programs for adolescents with ADHD to enhance their resilience and self-regulatory capacities
