Effectiveness of Spirituality-Based Cognitive- Behavioral Therapy on Resiliency and Life Satisfaction in Mothers with Slow-Paced Children

Abstract
The goal of the current research was to study the effectiveness of spirituality-based cognitive- behavioral therapy on resiliency and life satisfaction in mothers with slow-paced children. This was an applied, quasi-experimental study, utilizing pre and post-tests, with control group. The sample population included mothers who had a slow-paced child in the city of Mala’ar, Tehran, during winter of 1394. Using convenient sampling, 30 qualified mothers were selected. Resiliency Scale and Life Satisfaction Questionnaire were used for pre-test and post-test. Data was analyzed using covariance statistical method. Findings indicated that cognitive-behavioral therapy that is based on spirituality dimensions did in fact show significant difference in the results among the two groups (P<0.001). Considering these results, cognitive-behavioral therapy with emphasis on spiritual domains, and including cognitive restructuring, doing behavioral homework, and strengthening spiritual dimension seems to increase resiliency and life satisfaction in mothers with a slow- paced child
